An object identifier for gBondMIB MODULE-IDENTITY has been allocated
by IANA in the MIB-2 transmission sub-tree (211).

This document defines the first version of the IANA-maintained IANA-
GBOND-TC-MIB module. It is intended that each new G.998 bonding
scheme defined by the ITU-T Q4/SG15 working group and approved for
publication in a revision of ITU-T G.998.x will be added to the IANA-
maintained MIB module, provided that it is suitable for being managed
by the base objects in the GBOND-MIB module. An object identifier
for ianaGBondTcMIB MODULE-IDENTITY has been allocated by IANA in the
MIB-2 transmission sub-tree (215).</pre>

Concerning the XML files – maybe you should try to do it the other way – ask the RFC editor to send you the latest XML sources, so that only one version is kept by everybody for reference.

Regards,

Dan

Benoit, Menachem and Dan,
Thank you for your help and patience.

I would also like to thank the MIB doctors, reviewers and RFC Editors.

I have a question on the xml file – should I update my copy of the xml source and send it to the RFC Editor?

Regards,
-E.

Abstract:
This document defines a Management Information Base (MIB) module for
use with network management protocols in the Internet community. In
particular, it describes objects used for managing parameters of the
"Very High Speed Digital Subscriber Line 2 (VDSL2)" interface type,
which are also applicable for managing Asymmetric Digital Subscriber
Line (ADSL), ADSL2, and ADSL2+ interfaces.

<pre>I understand and I sympathize with the concern expressed by David and Mike. All the good comments made by David need to be taken into consideration in the writing of the future RFC. At the same time we (the IETF shrinking community that was once developing MIB modules for IEEE 802 technologies) need to complete the process of transition to the respective IEEE 802 Working Groups. This includes in my opinion deprecating the IETF MIB modules and making the RFCs historical. Maybe the moment is not now, but in 1, 5, or 10 years, but that time will come (and may be different for hubmib and bridgemib).

Concerning David's question:

I do not believe that we are talking about a reassignment of OIDs, but only of obsolescence of the MIB modules. The reason is not technical, but merely sending the clear signal to implementers of the Ethernet or Bridge MIB technologies where they need to look for the latest versions of the MIB modules. The IETF decided to get out of this business, and no more MIB modules for Eth</pre>
