[jpassion_webservices] How to do resource level security in jax-rs

Hi,

I have a jax-rs based system. I want to protect a user from accessing the 
data belongs to other user. 
i.e Say User1 have account A1 and User2 have A2. Account Resource could be 
like /account/{accountid}
Now user1 should not able access account/A2, and when ever such attempt is 
made then 403 should be thrown.

Is there any generic way to solve this problem of duplicate code other than 
checking in each resource "if the resource belongs to the Principle User"
Can I achieve this using OAuth. Please give me some links if you have any 
example code or article.

Sorry for the late reply.  We currently do not have CXF contents.  But CXF 
has sample apps that you can build and run with Maven/Ant so it should be 
easy for you to see/run their examples.

Sorry for the late response. The easiest solution would be

-Install latest version of JDK (JDK 7 update 15)
-Reinstall NetBeans using the latest version of JDK (or change the 
NetBeans configuration file to use the latest JDK).

Hi

My first question: is this lab homework mandatory? It seems to me like a 
bit too detailed for the first touch with webservices ;-). 

Then my problem:

When I try to run the server from Exercise 1:
ant clean server

I get an error below. The target directory (autodeploy) is read only. I 
tried to change this flag, but it's restored. 
I will be greatful for hints how to overcome this problem and move forward 
with the exercise.

Sorry for the late response.  If you are still having a problem, please 
change the
JDK version that is being used with NetBeans and restart NetBeans.
The file that can be changed is

<netbeans-installation>/etc/netbeans.conf

and the property to change is

  netbeans_jdkhome

Hi

I am using NetBeans IDE 7.2.1 with Glassfish 3+ and JDK1.6.0_38

When trying to refresh the Web Service Reference, I am getting the
following error

You are running on JDK6 which comes with JAX-WS 2.1 API, but this tool
requires JAX-WS 2.2 API. Use the endorsed standards override mechanism (
http://java.sun.com/javase/6/docs/technotes/guides/standards/), or set
xendorsed="true" on <wsimport>.
BUILD FAILED (total time: 0 seconds)

I tried to switch fromjavaClient to use JDK1.7 by right click the
fromjavaClient project, select Libraries and change Java Platform to
JDK1.7.  But it sitll complain about me using JDK6 with same error as above.

Any suggestion would be welcome.

section of the exercise does not get met,
it will not work.

  * You added wsitUser/changeit username/password pair to the file
    security realm of the GlassFish app server as described in step 1.1
    above <cid:part1.04060201.02090205-Re5JQEeQqe8AvxtiuMwx3w< at >public.gmane.org>.
  * You restarted the server after adding the wsitUser user account
  * You refreshed the Web service client
  * You set the Truststore key via Edit Attribute for the Web Services
    client
  * You have started the WS Monitor
  * You did Clean and Build and then Run on the client after the
    Truststore was set via Edit Attribute.

What is the WS monitor response look like?
