<pre>Hi Cristina,
;o) somebody definitively has to talk to Ryanair. We used to have a direct
flight from Bratislava to GC last year, but unfortunately it was canceled.

Thanx for your comment on Coworking Visa program, I will create an account
and add The Surf Office &lt;http://www.thesurfoffice.com&gt;.

As for your question, I am Slovak so yes its from around. Last 6 years we
are organizing surf session for people who want to learn surfing in France,
Spain, Portugal and Gran Canaria. As a follow up we came with an idea to
connect surf lifestyle with coworking and allow people to focus on their
work/life balance.

Did you already worked in some cowork places which focus more on
work-vacation or work-life balance?
I will appreciate any sugestion.

<pre>When I am explaining coworking to those around me, I paint the familiar picture: If you have ever been working in a coffee shop and look up and wonder what the other people are working on, you might be interested in coworking. If you have ever wanted to get up and say hi to someone to find out what they are doing (maybe actually have done so), but can't because of the barrier of talking to strangers in public, then coworking is definitely for you. You can be sure anyone else at the coworking spot is there for similar reasons.

They seem to get it after that.

Obviously personal anecdotes would be helpful too.

There is a good amount there so that's a great place to start. There have
been a number of conversations around how to gather some data on this topic
and I've been talking with Steve King from Emergent Research about doing a
joint project between his research firm, and Open Coworking. It's a tricky
thing to take on because people can be rather protective of their profit &amp;
loss data. If you have ideas on how best we could go about gathering this
data, I'm all ears.

<pre>Hey everyone,
A couple of us have been thinking of starting a small cospace around the
Cambridge area. The notion of a community workspace to nourish and inspire
the creative mind/heart makes us so happy! We want to focus on creating a
sense of community that not just works near each other, but thrives and
works *together*. As we move forward in creating this space we thought it
might be beneficial to start creating the community that will be inhabiting
the space. We were thinking things like skill shares, bike rides, etc. If
anyone has ideas or suggestions PLEASE feel free to input!

<pre>Hi Sam!

A hard quest :). I have the same all the time - people don't seem to get it
- I guess it is one of these things you only understand through practice. A
lot of people don't seem to see any benefits other than having an ergonomic
chair and a good internet connection for the first weeks.

For inspiration I suggest you take a look at the Coworker's Stories page in
the Coworking Wiki&lt;http://wiki.coworking.com/w/page/65062137/Coworkers%20stories&gt;.
It's a collection of blog posts written by coworkers about their
experiences in coworking spaces. Of course if you know of any (i.e. by
coworkers at the Coop) feel free to add them there. Actually - *please *add
them there!

Cheers,

<pre>Hey All..

This might be crazy, but I've been trying to articulate the benefits of coworking to folks that have spent very little to no time at all in a coworking community. I keep referencing the idea of "Creative Collisions" in my conversations and thought it would make sense to reach out to the community.

There's always going be the natural connections in a shared workspace. A small business owner can immediately find someone to help them with their dire need for a new website, without even leaving their workplace. That's amazing. But, to me the real magic is when folks meet and it sparks an idea, a business, a new thing... something that never would of happened.

I'd love to hear your stories born out of this collision whether it be simply an idea, thought, product, business or movement. Anybody have any good stories?

Happy Monday!
Sam

<pre>For those of you who might be in the San Francisco Bay area on Saturday, June 8, please join some of us LExC folks to discuss coworking on a macro level, followed by dinner and drinks. Totally free and no sales stuff.
http://lexcandthebay.eventbrite.com

This will be a great opportunity for everyone to meet others from around the country...in person! How about that - no emails! About a dozen devout coworking space owners will be in town for the weekend from Seattle, NYC, LA, Denver, Minneapolis, Grand Rapids, Chicago, Austin, Boston, DC, Charlotte, Greensboro, Philly and Miami.

On the docket tentatively are these two topics:
3:30 - 5pm: The "State of Coworking" Turnstone and others will present research they've done, bought, or otherwise have on hand (when you're bootstrapping in coworking start-up world, who cares where you get this stuff from!). What are some national trends in the workplace? What seems to be working for coworking...and what is not? What are the demographics?
