Hey Johannes :

We've been working on a easy way to maintain plips jenkins integration so
my aproach is :

* There is http://jenkins.plone.org/roboto/plips list. Here you can find a
list of configured jenkins jobs. The idea is that for each job is a PLIP
(or some other project like a plip) where you define :
  - The name of the plip
  - The git repos/ branches of plone you want to hook to run tests when a
push is done there
  - The git repo and branch that will be checkout to run the tests
  - The shell command structure that will be run to test. There is a basic
button that pushed an example with coverage and robot.
  - You can check if you want robotframework reports
  - Who should receive mails about this tests
  - And some url to see it
( it's secured using a key on the form so nobody who doesn't know the key
can add jobs there )

* When push is done to the repo that has been hook a job is created or
reconfigured on jenkins, runs the test and sends the info to github commit
message and mails of followe

Hi Timo!

At the last FWT meeting I brought up your request to get a viewpoint
from the Framework Team on having Jenkins integration for each PLIP.

We all think that this is a very good idea. You might have seen this
already in Eric's FWT meeting notes, but here again:

"""* Testing team working on Jenkins configuration for plips.
plone.app.contenttypes already working. Would we like these for all
plips? Absolutely.
    * We need to get some documentation in the coredev docs about how
PLIP implementers can get access to their builds.
"""

Please let me know if you need some more information from the FWT to
continue your work. And keep me updated about the progress.

Thanks a lot,
Johannes

well, tests run again, with some failures which need to be fixed.

it was my fault - i didn't add an <include package="plone.app.event"/>
slug, which is now in with an conditional check, if plone.app.event is
installed. it might not be installed, since it's added as a dependency
on "Plone".

the z3c.autoinclude entry_point didn't help, since the
<includePlugins..> statement is loaded too late in P.CMFPlone's
configure.zcml.

PLIP 12344 is merged!

Merged the #12344 branches into:
- Products.CMFPlone
- Products.ATContentTypes

Added plone.app.contenttypes in buildout.coredev to:
- checkouts.cfg,
- sources.cfg,
- tests.cfg

Add the plone.app.contenttypes dependency to the package:
- Plone

What's missing: adding plone.app.event as dependency to
plone.app.contenttypes. Since p.a.e is already (since yesterday) a
dependency on P.ATCT, the correct AT or DX event type will be installed
when selecting the content framework in the < at >< at >plone-addsite view.

P.CMFPlone's tests are failing (p.a.event's too). But this is mainly
plone.app.event's fault. I cant get the "plonelocales" messagestrings
translated any more and I didn't find the cause for that. That worked a
week ago. I don't know, if there was a related change or if I messed
something up.

cheers!

Dear FWT people,

I talked with Philip and Timo, and we think that
plone.app.contenttypes is ready to merge. Right, Philip and Timo?

That would also bring some benefit for the plone.app.event integration

I have now moved the dependency on plone.app.event from
Products.CMFPlone to the "Plone" package and removed it from
Products.CMFPlone.

I wanted to create a metadata.xml profile in "Plone", which installs
by default plone.app.event.at:default. But this doesn't work out,
since no other packge (Products.CMFPlone) imports it.

I think I drop my plan let Products.CMFPlone not depend on
plone.app.event and let Plone do this. We have to adapt
< at >< at >plone-addsite and < at >< at >plone-upgrade in P.CMFPlone.browser anyways to
let the user select the portal timezone, which is very important for
plone.app.event to work properly.

But before I backport everything back to P.CMFPlone,
plone.app.contenttypes should be merged in. It changes < at >< at >plone-addsite
and lets the user select which content type framework to choose, where
i can hook in and install wether plone.app.event.at:default or
plone.app.event.dx:default profiles.

plone.app.contenttypes is ready to merge, btw. Comes in another m

Dear FWT people,

I want to follow up the discussion from the last FWT meeting about
plone.app.event's integration issues.

Although plone.app.event is developed with least external dependencies
pointing to it and therefore it is de-installable, we should still
ship with an Event type installed by default for Plone 4.4. I think
this default Event type should still be the Archetypes based.

This could still be the ATContentTypes ATEvent, with an option to
install plone.app.event's ATEvent or the Dexterity Event instead.
Plone.app.event provides the "ploneintegration" profile for this. If
we want to go this way, we should revert the merges on Plone core
packages which werde done some weeks ago (CMFPlone, ATContentTypes and
plone.app.portlets).

The other option is to completly replace ATContentTypes ATEvent with
the plone.app.event one (which I prefer...). For this, we have to
migrate old ATEvent types to the new ones (a roughly tested migration
step is included)
