    <description>well... I believe you...
ruby 1.8.6 (2007-03-13 patchlevel 0) [powerpc-darwin9.2.2]
Rails 2.1.0
But Typo contains its own frozen rails so it should not matter.
Just trying:
471 examples, 44 failures

So I downgraded to Rails 2.0.2 and I now pass all the tests. Hummmm!
Interesting....
Wondering what this is about!
Merci.

Hi Pat,

The deal is easy: if specs don't pass, the gem won't build. So if you
got the gem, you must have the tests passing.

rails 2.0.2
Many other gems that won't fix

    <description>Hello list,

I've just released Typo 5.1.3, which is the fourth release of the
"Cartier-Bresson" series and released on sunday August the 31th. It is
mostly a bugfix and behaviour fix version, so don't expect many
visible changes, except for people having problems with the closed
bugs (thank you Captain Obvious). Typo 5.1.3 is avaliable as a gem
with installer or sources.

Following some discussion here, I've removed the database dependencies
from the Typo installer. We now assume that you have the bindings for
any supported databases and won't force you to install them anymore.

Complete CHANGELOG here:

Bug #1244: error with postgresql database on admin/content
Bug #1251: Documentation on dashboard is 404
Bug #1252: migrations alter updated_at timestamps of articles and
comments, affects RSS feeds
Bug #1253: Twice redirect in admin/user#list if no admin
Bug #1254: Fix little error when you use bad id in AdminUser#edit
Bug #1255: Doesn't autosave if no define title

OK, I think I figured out why this result is true. Restoring
from .yaml files sets the 'type' field of the Contents table to NULL,
even when the .yaml file contains Article as the type.

e.g.:

    <description>RE: nil.email

I found my problem pointed to model file 'article.rb' in the method

  def rss_author(xml)
    if link_to_author?
      xml.author("#{user.email} (#{user.name})")
    end
  end

Since we are showing the sidebar "Syndicate' module on a web page that
the 'user' is not logged in, I can see where we would end up with
nil.email

So, I decided to replace the original method in the model 'article.rb'
with this:

  def rss_author(xml)
      xml.author author
  end

Since this method is in a model, I bounced the server.

The RSS feed display is now rendering, however Internet Explorer is
complaining with:

'Internet Explorer was unable to update this feed and will try again
later.'

but Firefox seems to handle it quite nicely.

Frederic,

Thanks for the reply. I did finally get the system modified so users

The link "How to Submit Seminars/Articles/White Papers" will take you to
the page that links to the Signup section. The site is still Under
Construction so there may be a few issues. I posted a reply on another
thread about the "Articles" feed (RSS) not functioning. Seems others
are having similar problems. Still trying to work that one out.

It certainly ought to. Typo has a fairly comprehensive up-and-
downgrade mechanism, though. I can see why the project would be
reluctant to let it go (even if the examples do refer to Rails 1.1.6!)

i always prefer to delegate that sort of thing if at all possible. Not
that it's anything to do with me in this case. Things are more
difficult at the moment because Rails is presenting quite a shifting
target - everyone managing applications of any size had to do quite a
lot of work for 2 and now has to do it again for 2.1 (which is much
nicer, though), or is putting it off - but my own taste is for a
single large dependency rather than many small ones. Probably another
leftover perl habit: with CPAN modules you tend to require one and get
fifty, but the chain of delegated responsibility makes local
management much easier.

That did sound annoying. It sounds like the problem arises when typo
calls rails-app-installer. The installer-helper tries to be all things
