<pre>Hi!
Finally I submitted my talk to LGM 2013. It will have the format of BoF and
the theme will be:

"Synfig Studio development priorities"

Since most of you couldn't participate on the meeting, it would be great
that I can carry your voice there. I know that the theme of development
priorities has been touched several times on the forums but it would be
great to gather your ideas again.

I propose to only focus in your top three priorities to force you think
where we should really put the efforts. You can elaborate your proposal as
detailed you want or simply list the ideas. If I don't understand what you
want to express I'll ask here.

My proposal is:

1) Render engine speed up. Includes: Cairo and cairo-gl implementation.
Rework of the quality settings. Core optimizations for render on canvas and
for play animation on screen.
2) UI redesign. It should fit (not in specific order): high user
customization, gtk3 compliant, native OSX windowing, newbie user friendly,
UI designed for production.
3) Drawing / a</pre>

<pre>Initially used Avidemux. Opened and then exported the images in video format
.

Currently, I use Kdenlive. it has an option to create sequences of video
images.
Create a new document in KKDEnlive, click the "project" and select "slide
show" or something, because my version is in Portuguese.
In the window that opens, select the folder where the images are.
In term of the tables, change the button next to "time" to "frames" and where
you enter how many frames for each image you want, enter "1".

Do this with each folder containing images rendered by Synfig.
Divide your animation in separate scenes, making it easier.

The advantage of using Kdenlive is that you create through the the video images
and edit the video already.

Sorry my English.

Hug!

<pre>Hi...thanks for your good help on the sketch tool, bline and draw tool. It
answered alot of my questions.

I now have a question about rendering. Is there an easy way to render into
a video format? Each time I render, I seem to end up with a bunch of
sequenced png images...and I am not sure what to do with them.

How can I render straight into a format that could play in say, windows
video viewer?

Thanks,
joann

Please consider that the audience we expect in Vienna is mostly people
who are already part of one of our projects or graphic artists who
already know our products. For this reason, we will favor talks about
topics that are interesting for people who are active in our projects or
who want to spread technologies, ideas, or code to other projects.
We still would love to providepublicity for your project, but we think
the best way to do that is viashorttalksand lightning talks. If you have
more to say than what fits in those formats, you're welcome to submit
more than one "shorter" talk to coverdifferent aspects of your
project. It's our goal to have at least one short talk (about 10 minutes)
or lightning talk (5minutes) for each project represented at LGM.You're
also welcome to submit proposals for workshops, where you will give an

<pre>Hello Joann,

the sketch tool is just for quick sketches. It lays on top of your
actual animation and is not rendered, nor saved with your scene. It's
for temporary sketches, like drawing an arch or planning a motion.

For drawing in your animation there is the draw tool.

For ending an Bline without linking it to it's start you can click on
another tool in the toolbox after you've set your last point. Not very
intuitive, I know, it could perhaps be refined a bit.

make a drawing, but I notice is does not create a layer of its own. What is
the purpose of the sketch tool? Am I using it incorrectly?

Also, how do a make a single line using the Bline tool? When I make the
line, the vertex does not end. The only way to end it is to loop it with
another vertex. Is this corect?

Thanks so much.

Hi!
Please check that your Default Blend Method is set to "Composite" or
"By Layer Default" (at the Toolbox).

<pre>Hi...I'm new to Synfig and am having problems. When I use the drawing
tools, nothing shows on the screen. I've checked the radius, and the radius
number is fine. I've also checked the input devices, as sugested by the
manual, but that is okay, too. Drawings still won't show. I've uninstalled
and re-installed the program, but still the same problem. Any suggestions?
The drawings were working fine, and then suddenly, I couldn't see them
anymore. I can't even see a simple circle drawing! Thanks so much for any
advice.
