<pre>Hi there,

how would you like patches delivered?

I have a couple of features that I would like to see in WebSVN and that I
would be happy to implement and contribute.

In ascending complexity (and decreasing expectancy of an actual realization
;-)):

 * Display file sizes in directory listings (in human-readable format)
 * Display svn lock states in directory listings (e.g. using an additional
icon)
 * Obtain / release svn locks
 * Create directories (possibly incl. a user-provided message)
 * Delete files or directories (possibly incl. a user-provided message)
 * Upload new files or new revisions (one file at a time)

(Objections against any of these features, anyone?)

 I configured my websvn. My problem is that the list of projects is too big and it's not easy to find a specific project.

 My question is whether there is something implemented to navigate through folders sorted by departments(for example) where you can find the projects of that departments.
 If there's nothing implemented to do that, any ideas about how to do it?

<pre>Hi Quinn,

Thanks for your reply.

I understand the issue about the diff getting too large. Right now we use email that contains the diff. This way the user can have a quick look and decide if he want to see the whole file of not. Adding this information in the mail/rss feed saves him a click and makes it more likely that the message is read.

Anyway, I'll see if I can create a custom rss.php.

Thanks.

<pre>There are no plans for this currently, although you could certainly extend this for your own needs.

The RSS feed already contains a link for each item that jumps to the revision, and that page has a link to a diff. For example:

http://trunk.websvn.info/rss.php?repname=WebSVN

The latest entry links to:

http://trunk.websvn.info/revision.php?repname=WebSVN&amp;path=/&amp;isdir=1&amp;rev=1289

which has a link to:

http://trunk.websvn.info/comp.php?repname=WebSVN&amp;compare[]=/&lt; at &gt;1288&amp;compare[]=/&lt; at &gt;1289

I would caution that diffs can be potentially very large, so it might be better to leave that information to be generated on demand by visiting the website. However, if you're interested in trying your hand at it, I'd look at comp.php and see about calling a similar function in rss.php.

<pre>Hi,

Not sure if anyone else has asked questions about this (missing?) feature. I couldn't find any information about the subject on this page.

Is it possible to make the RSS feed richer? I'd like to provide our users diff information. Today we send email after a commit. If we could provide them with diff info in the RSS feed we could stop sending mail. This has the advantage that we can have one centralized user database. If we delete an account, the user also doesn't get a RSS post. Using the mail notification there is a chance the user gets email notification even after deleting the account.

More context in the RSS feed would be a really nice feature :-).

Any pointers on how to do this or is this on the roadmap already?

Johan-Kees

<pre>Hello all,
I configured my websvn instance that way that downloading is not enabled globally. Now I want to enable downloading only in one of my repository in one dedicated directory. So I did the following in my config.php:

//$config-&gt;allowDownload();
$config-&gt;allowDownload('refactory');
$config-&gt;setMinDownloadLevel(2, 'refactory');
$config-&gt;addDisAllowedDownloadException('/trunk/', 'refactory');
$config-&gt;addAllowedDownloadException('/trunk/Lässig', 'refactory');

I want to enable the download for the directory 'Lässig' in my repository. The result can be seen here:

http://svn-st.inf.tu-dresden.de/websvn/wsvn/refactory/trunk/

No download at all is possible. What am I doing wrong?

<pre>Hey everybody,

i have a small problem with our websvn (2.3.3).
We have a lot of repos. and i grouped all of them in different groups.
First i add all repos in one group with
$config-&gt;parentPath('/var/svn', "Sonstiges");

Then i'm grouping them into other groups by
$config-&gt;addRepository('abc', 'file://///var/svn/abc', 'group1');
$config-&gt;addExcludedPath('/var/svn/abc');
So i moved repo "abc" from "Sonstiges" to "group1".

But, now we need access to the websvn projectpages without knowing the groupname.
The documentation says, that if a project is grouped, it can simply be opened with the notation groupname.reponame.
But we only know the reponame.

I thought of a group called "all", where all repos are grouped additional together, because
they could be accessed with all.reponame anytime.
But there would be another group with all repos and i think this is not so fancy and there
might be a better solution :)

Anybody got an idea?

1) What do you mean by "symlinked to the same" ?
2) In the config.php file, there's :

// When allowing anonymous access for some repositories and require authentification for others
// WebSVN can request authentication on-demand. Therefore the optional second/third parameter can be used.

// $config-&gt;useAuthenticationFile('/path/to/accessfile', 'My WebSVN Realm'); // Global access file
// $config-&gt;useAuthenticationFile('/path/to/accessfile', 'myrep', 'My WebSVN Realm'); // Access file for myrep

Why is it here if it doesn't work ?

<pre>Hi Kondi,
To Rule out SVN Permissions, try temporarily setting authz-windows(back up
your original configuration in a copied file) to:

[/]
*=r

and see if you still get the error message. If not, set it back before
anything weird happens.

Another thing you can check is your config.php in the include folder of your
install to make sure you have set at least one repository for allow. The way
I set it up is to allow the entire repositories folder and then specify
certain "hidden" repositories:

$config-&gt;parentPath('D:/Repositories');
$config-&gt;addExcludedPath('D:/Repositories/HiddenRepositoryName');

HTH!

<pre>"satisfy any" will not work as you expect it to.
Apache will than let every user access WebSVN as anonymous.
If you want anonymous and authorized access you currently need two WebSVN instance (or symlinked to the same) with two different .htaccess files.

<pre>Hi,

I've installed WebSVN to have a web access to my SVN repos.

My problems is that I've an authz file to store the access rights for each repo (some are private, others are public). When I go to the WebSVN interface, I can only view the public repos (which is normal) but I've absolutely no possibility to login.

Moreover, when I go directly to a link of a private repo, I get an error "You don't have permission to view this repo" and WebSVN doesn't give me any ability to login.

I tried uncommenting the line useAuthentication file with 3 arguments (as the comment above was about login possibilities) but all I get in this case is an error (some function called on a non-object)...

Is there any ways to solve it ?

Thanks !

P.S. : I put the same authentication method for the svn repos and for websvn so to speak :
satisfy any
require valid-user
authentication via htpasswd

Hi Dirk,
I am having the exact same issue and can provide information at will:
I am using WebSVN 2.3.3. We LOVE WebSVN. It rocks. I've also lurked on
oldnabble to find many needed answers.

Here is what is happening. I recently did many SVN Moves and SVN Copies to
organize our 10 year old SVN repository to be more intuitive. For what
reason, I'm not sure but some folders are not showing any history past my
"Move" Revision, and other ones do. Of the folders which have the issue, if
I use TortoiseSVN's Log message on that folder, I get the same result. What
I found was that if I uncheck "Stop on copy/rename" in TortoiseSVN Voila! I
have all my history back.

I am also seeing a similar issue with merging, when I merge from trunk into
my branch to update it, I have to check "Include merged revisions" in
tortoise to see those merge changes.

Is there any way in WebSVN to use these options(Stop on Copy/Rename and
Include merged revisions)?

<pre>Hi Eric,

WebSVN only offers read-only access to SVN repositories currently.
So there is not any kind of write access yet.

Furthermore there is no active development going on.
So the answer to your question is: no, there is no plan to add such a feature to WebSVN.
