Hello,

we are publishing xmltv schedule for the national TV station in Slovenia
here: http://www.rtvslo.si/feeds/xmltv.xml

This is like best-effort xml based on available data. Would anyone here
like to start up a sl grabber?

Suggestions on content are also appreciated, as it is not tested at all
yet.

Best regards,
Tit Petric

Summary: Wrong postcode mapping for MK41

Initial Comment:
dazzle< at >edazzle.net

In the tv_grab_uk_rt file regional_channels_by_postcode currently in CVS the MK41 area is mapped incorrectly to midlands for the BBC channels. The correct mapping is east.

Hi!

tv_grab_fr seems to be broken. The grabber won't download any programmes.
The site http://telepoche.guidetele.com/ pops up a 404 error. I think they changed the layout.

Hi everyone,

I've finally found some spare time to fix tv_grab_eu_epgdata on Windows.
It needed a binmode() call on the file handle for the zip file to
prevent extra characters from being inserted. This fix was pointed out
to me by John Payne some time ago. All credit goes to him - I forgot to
this out in the commit message.

Sorry for taking so long to get this fixed, but I've been extremely busy
with real life :)

Can we have a new alpha-exe so people can benefit from this fix?

Regards,

Michael

Hi!

I tried to run the Windows version of the grabber:

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="ISO-8859-1"?>
<!DOCTYPE tv SYSTEM "xmltv.dtd">
Use of uninitialized value in substitution (s///) at
/PerlApp/grab/eu_epgdata/tv_grab_eu_epgdata line 284.
No more zip files available for download
[...a lot of "Use of uninitialized value at
/PerlApp/Time/Zone.pm"-errors...]

and then:
=> Your PIN will expire around Thu Jan 1 01:00:00 GMT 1970

I think this looks strange.

All the best,

It's no problem to download the data manually and I can open the zip

When I run tv_grab_eu_epgdata I still get the same errors.

This suggestion involves uncompressing the lists and then running
tv_imdb --prepStage all (obviously without the --download option). This
has unfortunately not helped in my case.

I'd be interested in any and all other suggestions.

Many thanks, Jan

Hi!

Since today(?) tv_grab_eu_epgdata is crashing. Maybe epgdata.com has a
problem?

Here is what it looks like:

$ tv_grab_eu_epgdata --config-file /home/marc/.xmltv/be.conf

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="ISO-8859-1"?>
<!DOCTYPE tv SYSTEM "xmltv.dtd">

It's not Object based, but XMLTV::Writer lets developers create nested
hashes and arrays of hashes and XMLTV::Writer does the XML work. It's
similar to the way XMLTV::parsefile() returns an object.

$program{$id}{'title'}          =$hash->{title};
$program{$id}{'subtitle'}       =$hash->{subtitle} if exists
$hash->{subtitle};
$program{$id}{'originalAirDate'}=$hash->{originalAirDate} if exists
$hash->{originalAirDate};

I'll check out the object methods... if it works well it could be added
to the standard library.

I found this section of the TV Guide terms of concern: (using the link
that Rod posted)
Let me say (which most folks know), that as a board member of
SchedulesDirect.org, I have a conflict of interest. I'll look to the
list for consensus on if the grabber is permitted by TV Guide.

Interesting. I guess the main question is tvguide.com's terms of use:
http://www.tvguide.com/services/terms.aspx

Compare with that of DirecTV (for which I wrote a grabber):
http://www.directv.com/DTVAPP/global/contentPage.jsp?assetId=P500012

We figured DirecTV let us off the hook with this kind of wording:

"You may download material displayed on the Site for non-commercial,
personal use only..."

But for tvguide it seems less clear. Dunno. IANAL.
