<pre>While doing some compatibility testing for wmlbrowser, I noticed that
the previously released 0.7.27 for Fennec was actually 0.7.26
internally. To fix the confusion, I've done a re-release at 0.7.28.

There are no other changes. You may still need to do a couple of
restarts after installation.

Firefox/Seamonkey users can still stick with 0.7.26 - the only changes
since then have been for Fennec.

Partial Fennec support

<pre>Just a quick note to say that wmlbrowser has been released with Fennec
support.

There are some problems with it, in particular, it looks like you need
to restart the browser a couple of times after installing wmlbrowser -
I'm not sure why this is.

For the time being I haven't made this an automatic update. You'll need
to manually install from:
http://downloads.mozdev.org/wmlbrowser/wmlbrowser-0.7.27.xpi

The support is for version 7, as a bug in Fennec 6 prevented the add-on
from working correctly.

Thanks to Hui Yu Wang and Mark Finkle for support in helping to get this
working.

<pre>Firstly, on Fennec, 'fennecOverlay.xul' is used, instead of
'browserOverlay.xul'. If I add a 'dump()' call or a console log, then
this seems to work OK.

Secondly, all of the actual WML handling is done inside the component,
wml-service.js. It looks like the component isn't working, or maybe
isn't registered, but I don't know why.

<pre>Hi Matthew,

thank you for your reply. Unfortunately I can not share the URL as it is at
an institution that I would have to provide personal data for others to see.

I was thinking more along Firebug or View Source or something similar that I
can dig a bit deeper. Might be useful to share that this site works with
Firefox 4 on windows, without the WML plugin.

Do you know of any tool (command line) similar to curl(1) that can reveal
more?

Also, is there any WML browser for linux (fedora core 14) that I can use
either as a way of comparing or simply getting my job done (for this
particular site).

Thanks
medi

The basic information to pass on is always the URL of the page you're
visiting.

Without more information it's hard to say whether this could be a fault
caused by wmlbrowser. Not every WML feature is fully supported and it
could be that wmlbrowser itself is causing the error. Is the URL
publically available?

<pre>Hi,

I am having some problems with a WML site. I am using
- Fedora Core 14, x86
- Firefox 4.0
- WML Browser plugin 0.7.26

Unfortunately the site I am visiting does not show much of an error message,
it says something like "there is a system error, contact your administrator"

How does one debug this situation, so I can convey my message to the site
admin more efficiently or if the problem is with me to remedy it.

Thanks
Medi

Yes, there are longstanding problems with anything like this. Anything
