I want to change the string inside the node <service_packs>, and I don't know what is the current string there.

For example:

I tried using:

<xmltask source="/Users/Shared/sdl.xml" dest="/Users/Shared/sdl1.xml">
<replace path="/Settings/Sdl/service_packs/text()" withXml="sp2=1"/>

Hi Brian,

The thing is that the insert subtask is runs inside a loop, i.e., I
create n dependencies. So I am guessing I need to keep a counter n and do
something like:

<attr path=" ivy-module/dependencies/dependency [< at >id=n]/" attr="conf"
value="compile->default"/>

I will have to try

Thanks,

Have you tried modifying the attr immediately afterwards via (say) the
<attr> subtask ?

Hello,

I have the following Xmltask:

<xmltask

       source=
"${ivy.repo}/${module.module}/${module.revision}/ivy-${module.revision}.xml"

       dest=
"${ivy.repo}/${module.module}/${module.revision}/ivy-${module.revision}.xml"

       <insert path="/ivy-module/dependencies/dependency"

              position="under">

                           <dependency org="" name="${dependency.module}"
rev="${dependency.revision}" conf="compile->default"/>

</insert>

</xmltask>

In the CDATA inserted I need the conf=”compile->default” as it is (Ivy
repository file), however after running the task, the insert is done
correctly, but the > character is replaced (the result):

<dependency conf="compile->default" name="org.eclipse.emf.ecore" org=""
rev="2.8.0"/>

I guess by default you scape < and > to enforce well formatted xml’s, but I
think they should not be replaced if inside a string.

Is there any workaround or f

<uncomment path="/*[local-name()='web-app']/comment()[4]" />

or even

<uncomment path="/:web-app/comment()[4]" />

What i was missing initially was the ':' before the web-app root.

Now when i get the altered file output, it does add an empty xmlns="" to the following:

<filter xmlns="">
<filter-name>authFilter</filter-name>
<filter-class>blah</filter-class>

<url-pattern>/*</url-pattern>
</filter-mapping>

Not sure if it will cause an issue or not when it is deployed...

Thanks to all.

Hi, I am having an issue where I want to make use of the xmltask uncomment feature.

I have something of the following:

web.xml:

<web-app id="someId" blah blah blah>

</web-app>

build.xml:

<taskdef name="xmltask" classname="com.oopsconsultancy.xmltask.ant.XmlTask" />
<target name="alterWebXml">
<xmltask source="WebContent/WEB-INF/web.xml" dest="D:/deployment/web.xml" report="true">
<uncomment path="/web-app/comment()[4]" />
</xmltask>
</target>

I am able to successfully generate the new web.xml file in the given directory. It reads the old one in, and writes the new one to the given dest directory.
The problem is, it's not removing the comments where I said to remove them

Rather than importing the org.apache API mentioned at the link above it seems the better plan of action would be to remove the dependency on internal API and re-write the code to use Public API:

http://docs.oracle.com/javase/1.5.0/docs/api/javax/xml/xpath/package-summary.html

Is there a specific reason that the internal classes had to be used that would prevent such a re-write?
Thanks,

    <copy path="/actions/action/< at >name" property="actions" append="true" propertySeparator="," />
</xmltask>

It works, but it produces also a lots warning messages:

[xmltask] Cannot append values to properties
[xmltask] Cannot append values to properties
[xmltask] Cannot append values to properties
...

Is there a way to suppress these warnings?

I would suggest modifying your templateejb-jar-bnd.xmi to contain the
equivalent namespaces. XMLTask doesn't translate between namespaces
(perhaps it should, but that's another conversation!).

worked .
I wanted to insert after last 'message-driven' .

But wen i am trin to update ejb-jar-bnd.xmi and am getting
Failed to add text to insert/paste

<xmltask source="ejb-jar-bnd.xmi" dest="dest_ejb-jar-bnd.xmi"
failWithoutMatch="true">
      <insert path="//*[name()='ejbBindings'][last()]" position ="after"
file="templateejb-jar-bnd.xmi"/>
     </xmltask>

Is there any other way to update xmi as this doesnt have anme spacee or tag on top .

I am facing the same issue where i am getting <xmltask> subtasks failed to
find matches ..error .
My xml task is below .

<xmltask source="ejb-jar.xml" dest="ex1-ejb-jar.xml" failWithoutMatch="true">
      <insert path="//*[local-name()='ejb-jar']/enterprise-beans/message-driven
[last()]" position ="after" file="templateGenEjb_jar.xml"/>
     </xmltask>
Ejb-jar.xml has this namespace in the begining .
<ejb-jar id="EjbModule_1" version="2.1"
xmlns="http://java.sun.com/xml/ns/j2ee"
xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance"
xsi:schemaLocation="http://java.sun.com/xml/ns/
<http://java.sun.com/xml/ns/j2ee>

if i make it as <ejb-jar id="EjbModule_1" version="2.1" > this works.
The suggestion beolw didnt work .

Any word on if this will be changed for the actual distribution? I'm currently
having the same issue and would like to not have to build from source if
possible.

Thanks

Mike
