Turba H5 (4.1.0beta1)

The Horde Team is pleased to announce the first beta release of the Turba
Contact Manager version H5 (4.1.0).

Turba is the Horde contact management application. Leveraging the Horde
framework to provide seamless integration with IMP and other Horde
applications, it supports contacts in SQL, LDAP, Kolab, IMSP, and Facebook
address books. For more information on Turba, visit
http://www.horde.org/apps/turba.

Testing is requested and comments are encouraged.
Updated translations would also be great.

The major changes compared to the Turba H5 (4.0) versions are:
     * Added CardDAV server support.
     * Allow to search all search fields at once.
     * Small improvements.

available for debian and now I am trying to understand the way it works 
and how to configure everything. I am stuck on something it seems very 
basic to me but I cannot find any reference on google nor horde docs, I

My horde installation is configured to authenticate through imp, using 
an existing ldap. I authenticate OK, I can use imp, turba and other 
modules but I want to share my address book to a custom group of users I 
can't find a way to do it.

setting appropiate permissions, same with sharing my address book to 
groups defined by administrator but as a user (no administrator) I 
cannot find where to define my own groups to share on the run to whoever 
I choose.

for what is the Link "More Options..." in Address Book -> Search -> 
Duplicate Search" ?
The link points back to "...horde/turba/search.php" and nothing i happen.

I was wondering if it would be beneficial to allow commas in the the 
phone number field so that you don't get the error "Work Phone You must 
enter a valid phone number, digits..." I can add commas to the phone 
number field using an iphone and active sync.  This means the number is 
dialed and then it waits and then dials the extension which is very 
handy for me (especially when driving).  Good to setup quick vmail 
access.  It seems to work for android phones also 
(http://forums.androidcentral.com/verizon-droid-incredible/18442-way-add-pause-then-extention-after-dialing.html). 
Once I have added a comma via the phone I can't edit the contact in 
turba web interface unless I first remove the commas.  Any opinions?

type cellphone and map that to a *new* field in the database. The way  
you have it right now, you are telling Turba that the values in both  
cellPhone and workCellPhone are to be stored in the object_cellphone  
field. What happens when those values are different, which one gets  
stored?

Instead, you need to create an object_workcellphone (or whatever you  
want to call it) field in the database to hold the additional field.

What should it be?  I understood the idea was to create another object
of type cellphone and and then map it to that rather than to create an
object_workcellphone

If I manually edit the query with the cellphone number, then it takes.

I wondered if it might be to do with the length (it has an extra 2
digits than most cell-phone numbers), but checking in attributes.php,
there is no limit to cellphone fields.

So, now I'm wondering if it's because I made changes and created an
attributes.local.php - for the record, what I did was:

Correct - this an sql backend source.

A good idea to do it while watching the log..  I've removed only
personal information from names and numbers..

see the update taking place in the mysql log? If not, make sure error  
reporting is high enough and check the web server's error log as well.

Otherwise, you can look in Turba_Driver_Sql::_save() to see (1) if  
this method is ever called and (2) what data is being saved, and (3)  
if this save is reported as successful.

For the ActiveSync changes, you might see something useful in the  
synclog if there was some failure in the update process.

Some contacts will not update

Hi

I have a few contacts that just refuse to update.  One is a few months
old, one is a few years old.  Neither have any special characters or
anything weird as far as I can see.  Using the web interface, if I try
to add or change a field, the change is accepted, but as soon as I go
back into the contact the new/edited data is not there.

If I use an ActiveSync device the data is shown on the device for a
while (until the next ping, I guess) and then disappears - although
this can take up to 12 hours.  However, it never shows up in the
backend.

Any ideas?  What sort of debugging do you need?  There appears nothing
relevant in the horde.log.  Nor anything that I can see in the
mysql.log

Reverting contacts

Hi

As I've been testing H5, I've made a number of changes to my address
book.  I would like to roll these into the H4 database before I
upgrade production to H5.  Is there an easy/simple/recommended way to
do this?

Is it enough just to make a select statement based on my owner_id and
insert these into the production database?
