That's false! I have the same installation since 6.06 which I've been

a Debian via aptitude and not as Ubuntu proposes via update-manager ;-)

Because after opening some times Tasks now I can see it creates a

Now I get:

/home/[username]/.local/share/evolution/tasks/1313916346.2262.0< at >[systemname]

/home/[username]/.local/share/evolution/tasks/1313943265.2207.0< at >[systemname]

and

/home/[username]/.local/share/evolution/tasks/system

which is the one that contains my lost tasks list.

I think Evolution creates a different directory with every session! :-(

I'll try to understand this before trying to overwrite with the "lost" data.

Muy bonito !

Actually the files with a name ending with "ics" can be opened with a text
editor (in Ubuntu you probably have Gedit). So open both files, compare, and
if it seems to you that it would work by replacing the new "tasks.ics" which
is in "/home/manu/.local/share/evolution/tasks/1313916346.2262.0< at >
[nameofmysystem]/" directory, you can try to copy it there.

I hope it works for you. I just installed task to see what it looks like, and
I don't see any export/import function in it. Only the ics files can be used.

Good luck ! Buena suerte ! Bonne chance ! :-)
(Don't forget to do a backup of your precious datas regularly, from now on).

It is not Ubuntu I would bet, but the update of evolution-data-server. The
same had happened to me, but I was able to restore because I have most of the
time 2 parallel installs with most of my personal data identical in each one.

Regular backups is always advised because you never know when the problems
will arise and what they will come from. :-(

If you don't find your files it means they are not there anymore. Have you
looked everywhere ? Maybe a copy is somewhere, in .Trash, or such place ?

Or as backup files ? Try this:
**************
sudo updatedb
**************
then once the prompt is back:

**************
locate task
**************

(you need to have slocate installed).
