<pre>Dear participants

As part of the MeeGo infrastructure ramp down, we will begin to shut down most
mailing lists. In the coming days, all mailing lists at lists.meego.com will
be shut down, except for the following:

NameReason
meego-devgeneral discussions
meego-commitsautomated emails from builds still being sent there
meego-securitysecurity concerns

The mailing list archives will be frozen too, but not deleted until the main
infrastructure shuts down completely. Some mailing lists have been archived
publicly by other services, such as:

http://gmane.org/find.php?list=meego
http://www.mail-archive.com/find.php?q=meego

In addition, we'd like to ask everyone still using MeeGo services, like OBS,
to begin finding other solutions. We will shut down all but essential services
in May 2013.

If you have questions about this, please contact me or
adam.r.gretzinger-ral2JQCrhuFfmgfxC/sS/w&lt; at &gt;public.gmane.org

<pre>OK, but install and manage an OBS server is a big stuff.

first, download an OBS appliance.

On a host use FakeOBS to grag a project/
 - Tizen API is https://api.tizen.org/public
 - the repositories of the tizen OBS are store here:

Link the fakeobs with your OBS Server.
http://en.opensuse.org/openSUSE:Build_Service_private_instance_boot_strapping

use obs2obscopy to copy all package from the fakeobs project to the OBS project.

It's a summarize of a full OBS bootstraping for Tizen.

1) If you give me the OBS Project name, I ll try to grab the Tizen
projects for you.
2) Can you describe the purpose of your project.
3) Can you describe your target board.

I want to do the Tizen2.0 build using OBS Light Gui (OBS Project).
Please give me the procedure to set up the OBS Light Server and its usage. It would be very helpful to me.

<pre>My thinking.

Discussed in MeeGo IVI Working Group,

Documented here, http://wiki.meego.com/images/2011-09-13-MeeGoIVIWGroupMeeting.pdf but with a typo where XFCE is referred to as LXDE:
Also documented here for the last month: https://bugs.meego.com/show_bug.cgi?id=17502
Also documented in various emails to meego-ivi-WXzIur8shnEAvxtiuMwx3w&lt; at &gt;public.gmane.org including this one http://lists.meego.com/pipermail/meego-ivi/2011-August/000750.html

Downstream impact to vendors and app developers is: they will have a new option for a UX, one that is developer oriented rather than consumer oriented. This seems to be especially appreciated by all the IVI developers I talk to. The option to start using XFCE instead of the default IVI UX will be communicated in notes to be provided, when the update is released.

Thanks for your interest

BTW I work with a team of engineers dedicated to providing MeeGo IVI 1.2.0 sustaining support with regular updates every 6-8 weeks through May 2012 (1 year after 1.2.0 release) and a</pre>

<pre>
I suppose for the last time, and for old time's sake: whose thinking;
where did it happen; where is it documented and how is the downstream
impact (e.g. to vendors, application developers etc.) being
communicated and managed?

Thanks in advance,

Andrew

<pre>Pretty much the same team under Elton that maintains all the other MeeGo packages. The thinking is it will be easier to maintain XFCE in MeeGo 1.2 than it will be for them to maintain MeegoTouchFramework and QML based meego-ux* and meego-app stuff.

Joel

hum,

This should not have been accepted without an approved FEA, and
definitely not into the update branch.

"switching" to Xfce4, as how this change is characterized in the BMC,
is not the same thing as "Integrating Xfce4, and then switching to
it", which is what this series *actually* does.

Who is going to be the maintainer of the Xfce4 packages?

Auke
