<pre>Dear participants

As part of the MeeGo infrastructure ramp down, we will begin to shut down most
mailing lists. In the coming days, all mailing lists at lists.meego.com will
be shut down, except for the following:

NameReason
meego-devgeneral discussions
meego-commitsautomated emails from builds still being sent there
meego-securitysecurity concerns

The mailing list archives will be frozen too, but not deleted until the main
infrastructure shuts down completely. Some mailing lists have been archived
publicly by other services, such as:

http://gmane.org/find.php?list=meego
http://www.mail-archive.com/find.php?q=meego

In addition, we'd like to ask everyone still using MeeGo services, like OBS,
to begin finding other solutions. We will shut down all but essential services
in May 2013.

If you have questions about this, please contact me or

OBS Light releases a solution to build locally yourTizen IVI image

<pre>Hello,

The OBS Light team http://wiki.meego.com/OBS_Light has just released the
Beta version off the OBSLight-fakeobs addon.
FakeOBS has been originally created by the MER project and we have
modified it for our needs. Our goal is to ease the import of a pre-boot
strapped full distribution such as MeeGo TV or Tizen IVI in a private
OBS instance.

It could be used for any OBS hosted project.

What has been released
=======================
OBSLight-fakeobs enables to deliver pre-boot strapped complete OBS
project(s) as a simple tar file (might be big!) which can be added to an
OBSLight-server by a simple command.
The added new project(s) is accessible through obslight server via the
fakeobs project link.
Branching off any packages from the fake OBS in your local OBS is
possible and building against the added project is availble by a simple
click on an icon.

Note: As the tools to create the tar file are not yet well documented,
we have created a set of three projects tar file for easy import as a
demo. We ha</pre>

Hello,

It sounds like graphics driver issue. I assumed you are able login to terminal mode.

Please try the listed steps below,

copy "/usr/share/doc/emgd-bin-xxxx/emgd-cb.conf" as "/etc/xorg/xorg.conf" and restart
If this does not work please try copying "/usr/share/doc/emgd-binxxxx/emgd-rv.conf" as "/etc/xorg/xorg.conf"

If both of the above are not working, you may have to install graphics drivers from below link, if nothing above works
http://repo.meego.com/MeeGo/releases/1.2.0/repos/oss/ia32/packages/i586/ (As per the required board configuration)

I've been dong some work to port the 1.2 IV reference UX to Mer for hard

The work is going on at

is utilising the Mer Pandaboard device adaptation packages at

Currently I have it booting to the UX and plan to get more of the apps
building.

when i click on any of the app, it does not show that app. For example, if

I have navit application installed. The corresponding navit.desktop also
exists in /usr/share/applications. I have nothing in /usr/share/xsessions.

Can you please tell me more what can be the issue??

I am running meego-ux-ivi as

This opens up MeeGo UX IVI layout as shown in

Do you have the Navit application? Are there files called *.desktop in
(IIRC) /usr/share?

I recommend installing the package called mlocate to help solve these
problems. The SSD recently died on the machine where I had meego-ivi
installed, but as I recall you must run

zypper install mlocate man man-db [install locate software and
documentation]
man locate [read docs]
sudo updatedb [create locate database]
locate navit | grep bin [see if you have the executable maps program at all]
locate desktop | grep navit [look to see if navit has a desktop file]
more `locate desktop | grep navit` [see what's in it]

<pre>Updates come from the Updates repo. There is just one "updates" repo for all updates. That is http://repo.meego.com/MeeGo/updates/1.2.0/repos/

The new IVI "sample/demo UX" is called "XFCE". It replaces the previous IVI sample UX which is no longer supported. Instructions for installing XFCE can be found: https://meego.com/sites/all/files/users/admin/xfce_installation.txt

There are no IVI specific components in this updated UX for MeeGo IVI.

<pre>All of the 1.2.0 Update 4 packages are kept in the "Updates" repos. The version number is never used in the name. This allows your installed image to always find the latest updated packages because they are always kept in the same location. That is http://repo.meego.com/MeeGo/updates/1.2.0/

So for example the kernel for the "Connext2" chipset was added during MeeGo 1.2. Update 4 and may be found at http://repo.meego.com/MeeGo/updates/1.2.0/repos/oss/source/kernel-adaptation-connext2-2.6.39.4-13.1.src.rpm

XFCE was also added during Update 4 to replace the "meego-ux-ivi" sample UI since components used by meego-ux-ivi were considered prototype and are no longer supported.

"Automotive Open Source" booth at Exhibit Hall of Southern California Linux Expo exhibit

<pre>The Silicon Valley Automotive Open Source meetup.com group
(http://www.meetup.com/Silicon-Valley-Automotive-Open-Source/) is
running a booth at the Exhibit Hall at Southern California Linux Expo
(https://www.socallinuxexpo.org/scale10x/) in Los Angeles from January
20-22. Please consider contributing product flyers or software
demos to the booth if you're so inclined. I'd be happy to have
GENIVI brochures, for example, or Tizen stickers, or Tieto CDs, or
Delphi job opening announcements, or an Intel poster, or a Nokia demo,
or whatever. A limited number of complimentary registrations are
available for booth staff. Also, please come hear my talk and see
my demo (https://www.socallinuxexpo.org/scale10x/presentations/automotive-next-frontier-mobile-linux)
if you will be at the meeting. Part of my demo at least will run
meego-ivi, especially if I find the 1.2.0.4 repo!

<pre>"Clark, Joel" &lt;joel.clark-ral2JQCrhuEAvxtiuMwx3w&lt; at &gt;public.gmane.org&gt; announces:

I see now also https://meego.com/downloads/releases/updates/meego-v1.2.0.5-ivi-update
from last Friday 12/16 but
I can't figure out what repo the updates should come from.

The XFCE desktop
(https://meego.com/sites/all/files/users/admin/xfce_installation.txt)
doesn't appear to include any IVI-specific components whatever.
meego-v1.2.0.5-ivi-update says, "This update includes several fixes to
improve the stability of the new 1.2.0 IVI sample/demo UX". What is
this sample/demo UX called and how do I install it?

Thanks for all your hard work,
Alison

<pre>Well, the terminal mode web site mentions a "kit", that's the hardware
I'm referring to. :-)

<pre>Jeremiah,

What hardware are you referring too? Nokia is releasing an app
for some of its phones supporting this feature:

http://webcache.googleusercontent.com/search?q=cache:CkmK5-AfVsEJ:nokiafanboy.com/tag/nokia-car-mode/+%22mirror+link%22+terminal+mode&amp;cd=37&amp;hl=en&amp;ct=clnk&amp;gl=us

(link is to google as I am blocked to that site at work (why, oh why))

<pre>Hi,

Terminal Mode is now called "Mirror Link." You'll need hardware to use
this with your phone and your IVI system. The Mirror Link
implementation is two part, a client and a server. Look at the
qterminalmodeclient package in MeeGo along with libterminalmode.

More info here: http://www.terminalmode.org/

Jeremiah
