Tomboy 0.12.1 Released (stable buildfix release)

Hi Everybody,

This email is to announce Tomboy 0.12.1, a stable buildfix
release in the 0.12.x series that is part of GNOME 2.24.x. This
release bundles gnome-sharp panel applet code (as we did before 0.11.3)
in the case that Tomboy is built against older versions of gnome-sharp
with a particular panel applet bug.

Tomboy is a simple personal note-taking application designed to be
unobtrusive and friendly, while supporting inter-note-links similar to
a WikiWikiWeb to help you organize your notes and ideas. It can run
either as a GNOME panel applet or a notification tray icon.

hi everyone;

I've just released Clutter 0.820, the Perl bindings for the 0.8 stable
cycle of the Clutter GUI toolkit.

You can download them from:

  http://www.clutter-project.org/sources/clutter-perl/0.8/

Or you can find them on CPAN:

Clutter is an open source software library for creating fast, visually
rich and animated graphical user interfaces. Clutter uses OpenGL or
OpenGL/ES to provide hardware acceleration to user interfaces. Clutter
can be used as a canvas or as a base for writing a full toolkit on both
desktop and embedded devices. Clutter is portable on various platforms,
being developed on Linux and tested on Windows and OSX with native
ports.

Clutter has integration libraries for quickly developing applications
with GTK+, GStreamer and Cairo.

Clutter-Perl is the collective name for the Perl bindings for the
Clutter core API and integration libraries

This version adds adds some features:

* Now it is possible to generate CRLs for all the CAs in the
hierarchy, not only the first root CA.
* Now, the dependences between certificate uses and certificate
purposes are enforced.
* Now, the CA used for inheriting fields while creating a CSR is
remembered, so it is the default selected CA while signing it.
* Just created files now in 0600 mode, so only owner car read them.
* gnoMint now can compile with much stricter compiler parameters (not
enabled by default).
* A lot of autotools cleaning, thanks to Stanek Lubos
<lubek< at >users.sourceforge.net>
* Now, certificates (CA and non-CA) can be imported from external files.
* Added swedish translation, thanks to Launchpad.net collaborators.

There are also several fixes:

* Expired certificates appear only in the first CRL released after the
expiration date, according to RFC 5280 (page 13).

Celebrating the release of GNOME 2.24!
              ======================================

Today, the GNOME Project celebrates the release of GNOME 2.24, the
latest version of the popular, multi-platform free desktop
environment and of its developer platform. Released on schedule, to the
day, GNOME 2.24 builds on top of a long series of successful six months
releases to offer the best experience to users and developers.

For more than 10 years now, the project has been seeing a tremendous
amount of work. And as usual, it's hard to come back to a previous
version of GNOME once you've tried GNOME 2.24, which is probably the
best compliment the project can receive.

This six months effort wouldn't have been possible without the whole
GNOME community, made of contributors from all around the world:
hackers, documentors, usability and accessibility specialists,
translators, maintainers, sysadmins, companies, artists, users and
testers. GNOME wou

What is GTK+
============

GTK+ is a multi-platform toolkit for creating graphical user
interfaces. Offering a complete set of widgets, GTK+ is suitable for
projects ranging from small one-off tools to complete application
suites.

GTK+ has been designed from the ground up to support a range of
languages, not only C/C++. Using GTK+ from languages such as Perl and
Python (especially in combination with the Glade GUI builder) provides
an effective method of rapid application development.

GTK+ is free software and part of the GNU Project. However, the
licensing terms for GTK+, the GNU LGPL, allow it to be used by all
developers, including those developing proprietary software, without

Hey all!

It's stable release time again.
So here we go with the Eye of GNOME 2.24.0.
Since 2.22 we were able to complete the move from GnomeVFS to GIO and
EOG is now also able to read some selected metadata from your PNG files.
It's also shipping with a set of base plugins which can improve your EOG
experience and can also serve as boilerplate for new plugins. ;-)
The aspiring plugin programmer in you might also find the shipped
gtk-doc API documentation useful. But that's not all. Why don't you just
give the latest Eye of GNOME a try?

ANNOUNCE: Banshee 1.3.1

Hello,

We've released Banshee 1.3.1. This is the second release in the 1.3 unstable/development series leading up to the 1.4 stable series. We expect the 1.4 series to have a long life cycle since it will be included in SUSE Linux Enterprise Desktop 11 (SLED).

Major new features for the 1.3 series from the last stable (1.2.1) release:

  * Vastly improved portable media player support:
    - Real media player synchronization is now supported, along with the
classic ability to manually manage portable media players
    - Playlists and Smart Playlists can now be saved to media players
    - Cover art now syncs to USB mass storage devices

  * Library rescanning - Banshee can now detect newly added, removed,
and relocated files and update its collection

  * Freshly revamped track metadata editor

  * Break the columns context menu into multiple columns

  * Column widths should be much more reasonable
    - Sensible width ranges set for time, dates, year, etc
    - Some shorter labels used in colum
