Many of you have been aware of Bernard von NotHaus and his
Liberty Dollar project.

You may not have been aware of the most recent information he
has been circulating on his case.  Here is an excerpt.

"On April 17, 2013, the Department of Injustice replied to my motion for
acquittal. Of course, they disagreed and made numerous points that my
Motion had no merit and why I should be sent to prison. Over all it is
what would be expected. And as acquittals are very rarely granted, the
DOJ probably thought they had my conviction in the bag so they didn't
have to get too worked up over my latest motion. But the point of my
acquittal, no mens rea (i.e. no criminal intent) no guilt thus I should
be granted an acquittal and all your property should be returned was
well presented by my attorney. HEY! It's been seven year since the US
Mint published the "warning" that using the Liberty Dollar was a crime
and six years since the FBI raided the warehouse and confiscated all our
property. I for one of over 100,000 people

On that note, James Turk did an interview with King World News yesterday 
which really caught my attention for a number of reasons. One of them 
had to do with Barrick’s Pascua- Lama operation in Chile…

The short position in both gold and silver is now so huge, it won't take 
much to push the shorts into a buying panic. I have been looking for 
possible triggers that could panic the shorts, and we got a hint last 
week of one possible event which may do this. Because of various 
problems, there have been news reports that Barrick is considering what 
to do with its huge Pascua-Lama deposit after a Chilean court ordered it 
to stop development work.

The project is already well behind schedule, with big cost overruns from 
its initial plan, but here's the important point: The market has been 
expecting that when production begins, the mine would produce 800,000 
ounces of gold and 35 million ounces of silver annually. Those ounces 
will of course never materialize if development work remains s

I was expecting paper gold to end with a bang.  Instead, we are seeing a 
creeping slow motion ending, kind of like the way the mortgage backed 
securities market froze up in 2005 November, but everyone pretended 
everything was normal, and a lot big people in finance believed

Yes, looking at prices in terms of gold instead of dollars or other fiat is a lot more informative,
like the gold/silver ratio, gold/oil, gold/real estate. The dollar itself is too volatile and
manipulated to use as a measure of value.
