While 50 of Item B were actually used the system charges the work order for 50 of Item B and removes the whole batch, i.e. remaining Part B no longer exist in the system. The unused items are never returned to stock. The handling of batch items needs to be modified. A batch can be split into multiple locations, e.g. storage and work orders. The batch number should not be treated as a serial number.
