Good people,

There has been some private discussion about the idea of a webERP
conference. We have a venue in Sri Lanka - thanks Samudaya - and really
wondering if there is enough enthusiasm from users and developers to
warrant the effort of organising such an event.

I'd be happy to do a session on Point of Sale and hopefully my new
web-shop by this time, but it would also be great to have some
feedback/case studies from users to see the businesses where webERP is
being used and informal discussion with people passionate about webERP.

Please advise if you would be a starter for such an event.

The invoice should not have been committed as it is all done inside a db
transaction.
I would re-run the DB maintenance from phpMyAdmin or from command line with

http://dev.mysql.com/doc/refman/5.0/en/mysqlcheck.html
<http://dev.mysql.com/doc/refman/5.0/en/mysqlcheck.html>

with all users out - it could be you have a locked table stockmoves probably.
Then retry the invoice.

The Software Freedom Conservancy <http://sfconservancy.org/> has started a
fundraising campaign<http://sfconservancy.org/news/2013/may/01/npo-accounting/>
to create an open source, free software accounting system for non-profit
organisations (NPO). Conservancy's goal is to raise $75,000 to fund a
developer for one year to first evaluate existing technologies and then
build a solution designed for non-profit accounting on the best available
open source system.

Conservancy Executive Director Bradley Kuhn says many non-profit
organisations use proprietary software to file their obligatory annual
reports with governmental organisations. According to Conservancy, this is

equality, democracy, and sharing". The software package Conservancy is
trying to create will be mostly aimed at US non-profit corporations, but it
should also prove a good basis for other localised versions.

Please review today's bugs fixed report.

I fixed SMTP mail related bugs today:
             1. Users can config use smtp or not in setup.
             2. They can mail their PO via smtp mail by the SMTP setting.

The SMTP settings has some error messages for those Boolean
instead of object query return. And fixed the SMTP does not work for Chinese
setting, maybe also other language except English. At the same time fixed
the mailing feature for PO PDF files via smtp. It's no such setting before.

Tim has review those files and found that </select> tag
missing.
And I got Richard's feedback that I should create another
4.10-4.11 sql file.

              Thank you Tim and Richard.

Thank you very much for Samudaya's report and correction. Also
thanks for Phil's efforts to fixed these bugs.

27/4/13 Samudaya: Fixed a bug in PO_Items.php when a line of a purchase
order is deleted (other than the last line) and then subsequently a new line
is added - the last line of the order is over-written.
27/4/13 Samudaya: PO_Items.php When purchasing a non-stock item (asset),
AssetID goes to wrong column in purchorderdetails table (Column name -
suppliers_partno). Fixed the bug and now save the AssetID in the correct
assetid column.
27/4/13 Samudaya: Fixed the Page Navigation (Go, Previous, Next) problem.
This problem occurs there are many assets and display as several pages.
And a title mistake Z_CurrencySuppliersBalance.php revised by Phil.

We are using the manufacturing functionality. We have yet to upgrade since
we have a number of modules to which we and others have made patches.

What is the impact of the bin locations on the manufacturing, i.e. Work
Orders, etc.

The handling of batch items does not work as expected. We create a Work
Order to produce 50 of Part A. The Work Order's BOM requires one of Item B
per Part A. Item B is a batch controlled item.

We can only issue whole batches to work orders. Such in the future might
become a major problem.

The batch issued to the work order of Item B contains 100 items.

When we receive all 50 Part A, the whole of the batch is removed from
inventory. While 50 of Item B were actually used the system charges the
work order for 50 of Item B and removes the whole batch, i.e. remaining Part
B no longer exist in the system. The unused items are never returned to
stock.

The handling of batch items needs to be modified. A batch can be split into
multiple locations, e.g. storage and work orders. The batch number should
not be treated as a serial number. A possible workaround is to make the
batch number be the prefix to the unique identifier:
      <batch number>_<location>

We do have a need to track batch items so that w

MRP: Problem with open Work orders

Hi,

I found a Problem with MRP and open work orders:
- create an item and give it a quantity in stock
- create a product with this item
- create a work order in which an item is used with the quantity to use all
items in stock
- create another demand for this product where that item is used in the
future
- create a purchase order for the item with the quantity used in the demand
- return all products in the work order but do not yet finish the work order
(calculation) leave it open
- run MRP with demands on

You will find that also there is a quantity issued in the mrpplannedorders
although there is a purchase order allready in the system. This may be
caused by entries in the MRPrequirements with quantity 0 belonging to the
still open WO confusing the MRP algorithm.

If so maybe the best would be to filter these entries in the beginning.

Many thanks,

Benjamin

Hi Exson,

Good to have you back on the case :-)

You can define standard bin locations - from

ReorderLevelLocation.php

or

StockStatus.php

The bin location will appear on the packing slip

We should also make it appear on the goods received note so that it
displays for the goods inwards guys to put the stuff away.
