maybe update the features.txt in the documentation?

w.r.t. target images support I am missing UBIFS and/or JFFS2 -- not sure how useful that is but it could
serve as some guideline how to do it

further I would appreciate some how-to documentation; this would have helped me to get started...
I propose a short list for now... maybe some items are stupid but it is tedious to read through several
scripts to find out how Openbricks handles things

if there is interest I will complete the answers as far as I can and post a patch, please comment

    <link>http://permalink.gmane.org/gmane.comp.embedded.openbricks.devel/557</link>
<description>&lt;pre&gt;There are a lot of consumer devices right now (including those who shall come up soon on the market) that only support IPv4, even if their MAC Controller is IPv6 capable. For the near future, most of customers consider the switch to IPv6 as a SW update to those devices.

So enabling IPv6 by default could be tiresome, as it is not needed right now, and as it shall increase the memory footprint of the final image.

It seems strange that system enforce the IPv6 requirement!

Maybe we could always enable ipv6, and remove the ability to deselect it.
Opinions ?

If not, I don't understand what you mean...

You may need to create only a few nodes, and not wanting to let udev
make it all for you.
But yeah, udev may be enough.

Same question for populating the /dev. For instance, I have a

root access) ?

    <title>[openbricks-devel] Busybox - adding a conf file in a platform</title>
    <link>http://permalink.gmane.org/gmane.comp.embedded.openbricks.devel/545</link>
    <description>&lt;pre&gt;Hi,

While looking at busybox, I noticed in the unpack file the following lines :

if [ -f config/flavours/$FLAVOUR/busybox.conf ]; then
  BUSYBOX_CONFIG="config/flavours/$FLAVOUR/busybox.conf"
else
  BUSYBOX_CONFIG="$PACKAGES/$1/config/$1.conf"
fi

I would like to add something like :
if [ -f config/platform/$TARGET_ARCH/$TARGET_PLATFORM/busybox.conf ]

Which would give the ability to specify a busybox.conf file for a
given platform (two platforms may have the same flavour, but a
different configuration).
What do you think about it ?

BTW, is there a way to put specific /etc files to be included in the rootfs ?

Regards,
JM

Yes, it looks like the third options is the better one, but it may be
tricky to implement correctly (we'll probably need to package multiple

Would ./scripts/savecfg be enough for your needs? I'm not too keen to
add per-platform toolchain selection, it's a bit messy to do (as you
need to specify additional paramenters, like the toolchain path for
codesourcery) and I don't feel the toolchian to be so tightly coupled
with the platform.

bswap_{32,64} functions are already defined in uclibc (and maybe other *lib).
I had to add surrounding #ifndef bswap_* / #endif to get it compiled.

Could you have a look at this please ?
