Linux Foundation mailing list services restored

<pre>Hello,

Mailing list services have been restored and we are in the testing
phase, so please let us know if you see any issues.

Most importantly, we want to thank you for your patience and
understanding as we worked around the clock to restore services. For
web sites associated with particular projects that have not yet been
restored, we are reaching out this week and next to the project leads to
begin restoring the web services. Thanks for your continued patience.

<pre>Hello,

Thank you for the swift answer!

I've been trying to find active "general Linux development" forum. I believe
we have software development game changer, and I understand that I need to
demonstrate this on Linux platform to show it's viable claim.

I've been now through three different "dead" workgroups, trying to educate
myself enough to be able to alone build entire reference case.

I somewhat wish that Linux community, or Meego community would become
interested enough to challenge the current developer ecosystem leaders - and
go way beyond the current end-developer experience.

It just becomes extremely worksome for me to come from Microsoft/Windows
developer ecosystem with a technology that truly is platform-agnostic, but
requires some groundwork and understanding to be applied.

Br,

Kalle

<pre>

Hello all,

I'm a fresh newcomer in Linux Foundation - aiming to focus on improving the ISV / application developer experience.

I am hoping someone to point me to proper direction as all the material regarding these issues seem a bit outdated (2008-2009 mostly) in the workgroup "Linux Desktop".

Are the audio and multimedia issues still valid (they seemed to be one of the largest concerns when the documents were dated)?

I understand there is Linux Standard Base that is mostly focusing on these issues. That's one solid approach of bringing together the differences to form a concrete platform to build on.

I however would like to understand the core of the ISV / application developer issues on a broader range as well. Linux versatility is one of the strong points, and the platform-versability can be addressed without having to enforce the platform to concrete.

So is there still active general ISV / application developer focus available or where is the major developer experience mostly addressed at?
