I am new to MRBS.

 

I have setup the site and install the MRBS. It works fine except that it
always allow user to browse the user list.

How can I get rid of that link (the link to edit_users.php) which is just
below the login box at right upper corner?

Or alternatively just show this option to admin users?

Automatically populate User name in Brief Description

Is there a way to automatically populate the user's name who has logged in in "Brief Description" when they are trying to add an entry?

We require a login, and once the reservation is made, "User Information" contains the user's name when we view an entry.
We would like to have the username put into the brief description so at a glance, we can see who has reserved the room.

Any help would be appreciated.

Never mind, I've exported it as an ICS file and we've chucked it into 
our Google calendar, which can be shared amongst the people who need to 
see the timetable.  Don't know where my brain was earlier! :)

Has anyone come up with an answer to this? We're looking to do a similar 
thing.  We're using our copy of MRBS for timetabling multiple sets of 
lectures, some of which happen at the same time on the same day. Our 
'rooms' for this area are called 'Slots' and we need to see a week's 
worth of data in one go for all slots.

Is this possible or are we going to have to resort back using CelCat? :)

Can I please have a working example of how to set up admins through 
groups in AD? So far I have been unable to to get my admin groups working without specifying each admin manually which would be a major hassle because of people moving and then having to switch who is administrator for a site. We currently have ldap authentication working but we cannot get $ldap_admin_group_dn 
to work

OK  Solved the problem.

Updated the Default room function in functions.inc to include an OR for 
my specialties field.  Now everything appears to be working fine.

This also allows me to put the following line back to its original state

if ($res&&  (sql_count($res)>  1))

and everything works as expected (at least for now.

Sorry I forgot to point out that the $specialty variable is:

$specialty = '';

Also this line does not make much sense:

What I meant to say is that my changes to the day.php file work fine and 
the proper rooms show up in the areas I have assigned them.
The problem only exists in the week.php and month.php
The changes work fine for any area that has at least 1 room assigned to 
it using the proper (original) method although I still get the No room 
exists in this area message and the default room is not automatically 
displayed. I have not bothered trouble shooting this yet as I have been 
trying to solve the other issue first.

While in the process of updating this post I noticed:
In the week and month displays, it appears that the number of rooms 
displayed is 1 less than what there should be.

I am attempting to allow rooms to exist in more than 1 area.
I have created a new field in the Rooms table that allows name to enter 
multiple Area ids each separated by #
I can therefore list more than 1 area by using #1##2##6##12# (the 
numbers match the area_id)
I can then use this field to select rooms that belong to more than one 
area by using  LIKE in the sql statement '%#$area#%'

This is working fine in the day.php display, and where an entry already 
exists in one of the existing Areas. I run into trouble with the 
week.php and month.php displays.
I believe it has to do with this SQL query in the functions.inc file  I 
am not sure what the 4th line does so I don't know how to make it work 
in my case using a LIKE statement:
   $sql = "SELECT R.id, R.room_name
             FROM $tbl_room R, $tbl_area A
            WHERE R.area_id=$area

Did you remember to add the $maxlength entry to the config.inc.php file?

I assume if the field length is the same you could use an existing 
entry, just not as clean.

Desiderata: Share or Join a reservation

Hi,

we have a special need here: The possibility to join or share a 
reservation, if the same(!) course has different registrations for 
different curricula.
E.g. 1. Info Dept. books the course "Basic concepts of computer science"
         2. Info Sci. will offer this course to its students under reg. 
# A123 and in their color.
         3. Info Tech. will offer this same course to its students under 
reg. # B456 and in their resp. color.

It would be nice if it would be possible to share or join a reservation 
in its total (mostly needed) or in parts. The reservations must be 
distinguishable (different title/comment/color).

In which case you should use $maxlength['room.equipments'].

When the submit button is pressed the action is specified by the action
attribute in the form tag.   In this case the action is to go back to
import.php.   The import parameter has also been sent (the name attribute in
the input tag for the submit was set to 'import'), so the code can detect
whether this is the first pass through and the form should be displayed or
this is the second and the form should be processed.

 

So the code that gets executed to process the file follows
