<pre>Hey! sorry for the late response.

I haven't tested it yet, but since kernel 3.1 the FTP should be fully
supported (24/96, not only 16/48 as a class compliant device) out of the
box. The patches that where around for it to work on older kernels where
finally integrated in Alsa.

Try upgrading your kernel, or try ubuntu 12.04, which comes with kernel 3.2.

Take a look at this excellent post:
http://joegiampaoli.blogspot.com.es/2011/06/m-audio-fast-track-pro-for-debian-linux.html

Cheers!

<pre>Hi list,

as said in my mail here on 29/04/2012 at 18:19,

the install.sh process fails with "missing library".
But compile Ardour3 from source is ok from rev 12...
(just add the new lv2 to have mdas' intruments support)

2 questions for the dev team, if you please men :

-is it ok to add some (if have) in Mantis, or is it only for
the 11482 rev ?

- After install successfully finished, I have uninstall
and try to ./install.sh the 11482, and it still fails.
Question is : do you want more details ?

Can't tell what, but something is better in the general look of
the app in the revision obtained yesterday :-)

Unfortunately "Pulse Audio &lt;-&gt; JACK bridging" is enabled by default".
This might solve the PA issue, but might cause other issues. Since it's
a LTS disabling PA might be add later.

Probably, you didn't tell jack to use the playback device of your
card. Please, show the terminal outputs of these commands, when ardour
is running:

aplay -l
jack_lsp -c
ps aux | grep jackd

Just in case, check alsamixer too.

do you consider the function 'raise to top layer' being our big friend here?

correction - a rat probably would not need that long.

The topmost region's fade is a crossfade between it, and whatever is
below it ( whether this is silence, another region, multiple regions, or
a stack of regions). When the topmost region's gain is fading in,
you'll hear the "inverse" gain level applied to any audio underneath; so
it is fading out during the same period. The fade in and fade-out start
and end at the same time, but this is no longer related to the region
start/end points of the region in the lower layer.

The main benefits of the new implementation are:

1) Allow crossfades to be moved in position and size regardless of the
region overlap. For example, in the old model you couldn't adjust the
crossfade in/out lengths when a region was placed on top of, but
enclosed by, a region underneath it. In the new model you can do this
and a lot more.

2) Allow crossfades to continue to exist when one of the regions is
momentarily moved/removed.

3) Reduce the number of interactions between fades, crossfades, and
region ga</pre>
